There were so many inconsistencies between the book and the show that this was frustrating to read. (Spoiler: for example, in the book, Archie finds out FP is the leader of the Serpents before the school year even starts).While there were some fun moments, most of the storylines felt weak and underdeveloped, like they were only there to give exposition.Ultimately, it felt more like mediocre fan fic than a licensed book.
I love Riverdale, despite the storylines being all over the place.This book - is NOT even consistent with the inconsistent plot lines on the tv show. It's like this writer didn't even watch the first season of the show before writing this book AS A PREQUEL!!The first few chapters talk about how Jughead and Archie are 16 and are planning to drive for the 4th of July. Once I saw that, I put the book down and haven't picked it back up. Total waste of money and time!
Such a good addition to the series of riverdale. Perfect read for in between seasons! If you like riverdale, this is a must read. Hate I’m stuck waiting til May for the second one!
